This afternoon I got a call from a customer. When I answered the phone, she said that she was surprised that we were working since it is a holiday.
"Earth Day?" I asked.
She laughed and said "Good Friday."
That's how you make a good impression as a highly skilled software consultant.

He he he! Oh, that makes me so happy...I'm surprised that you knew it was Earth Day. I don't ever know when earth day is. Or was it even earth day? Were you just guessing?
Out here, there are SO many holidays, what with all the different religions and ethnic traditions, that it's always a holiday, and someone is always wishing me a nice something, and there's always some random parade...I only keep track of the ones I get off from school, but there are a ton of other ones.
One day, I couldn't figure out what a few people at school had on their foreheads. Had they been to some rally? A club meeting? Then I saw it again up closer to my house, and I realized: Ash Wednesday.
Hee hee. Good Friday is enough of a holiday here that we get it off school and work. Yay!
